Annual Red-Tie Event

The Red-Tie event is this Saturday! For those of you who don't know, this annual event is put on by athletics to help support our wonderful athletes! Season Closer

We closed the season on Saturday at the Opening Day Regatta, and closed with a bang! The Varsity 8+ won the Open 8+ category, and the Novice 8+ placed 3rd in the Novice 8+ event. A great way to end the season.

I am truly grateful to have the opportunity to coach these women. Seeing them make changes not only in their rowing, but in their lives as well is an incredible thing to witness and be a part of.

Ladies- You were fantastic this year! I am so proud of how we did this season. We will only continue to build on our success's this year. Thank you for doing all that you do! You guys are GREAT! 

Last Race of the season

Our season wraps up tomorrow morning with the Opening Day/Windermere Cup regatta. Come out and support! This is quite an event! One of the biggest regattas held in Seattle. There will be an SU alumni/supporter tent on the north east corner of the cut. Hope to see you all there!

WIRA Championships!

 We had a fantastic weekend of racing. Both boats qualified for Grand Finals! The Novice 8+ finished in 2nd place. Seattle U's FIRST medal as a division I squad. The Varsity 8+ finished 5th in a very tight race across the board. I am so proud of how the whole team did this weekend! Great job ladies!

Covered Bridge

Fantastic Racing at the Covered Bridge regatta in Eugene, OR on Saturday. Our Novice 8 crushed it, placing 1st, with several boat lengths of open water. The Varsity 8 had a great race as well, overtaking the 4th place crew in the last few meters of the race! Check out the Official results Here & Here (on pg.4 and 22).

Husky Open Tomorrow!

We had awesome weather all week to help us get ready for Husky Open tomorrow on the Monlake Cut. We race at: V4 9:45, N8 10:15, V8 10:30. GO REDHAWKS!!

Daffodil Sprints!

We had some tough conditions on Saturday, pouring rain and wind. Despite the weather, thought everyone raced well. Here are our official Results.

Spring break!!

We lucked out with the weather this week, having beautiful water just about every morning, and afternoon! Great for spring break training! Daffodil sprints on Saturday! American Lake, if you're around come support!

SUUP Cup!

We had a great trip down to Vancouver, WA for the 2nd annual SUUP Cup (Seattle U, U Portland)! We arrived at the course Saturday morning to an incredible sunrise, and almost perfect conditions! The girls raced hard. Check out our results here.

Successfull Banquet!

Our Banquet on Sunday was very successful! Tim Michelson's motivational talk was very inspiring. Thanks to ALL that came out to support! Now, ON TO RACING!!

Erg-A-Thon

Saturday's Erg-a-thon was very successful! The women erged a total of 309,229 meters! Your donations are very much appreciated! We couldn't do it without the help of alumni, parents, and all out other supporters! So on behalf of the coaching staff and  athletes, THANK YOU!

DANCE MARATHON!!

More photos on the Seattle University Women's Rowing!

If you didn't see on our Facebook page, Seattle University Women's Rowing, the whole team participated in the Seattle University Dance Marathon! Dance Marathon is a nation-wide student led philanthropy, raising money for local Children's Miracle Network Hospitals. The women's rowing team raised over $5000 for  Seattle Children's Hospital, and Danced for 16 hours! I am so proud of these young women for what they did to support Children's!

WIRA's in a Day!

We had and AWESOME practice on Saturday! WIRA's in a day was on the schedule! We had Several PR's, and it was the walk-ons first (second, third, and for some 4th) 2k ever! This is NOT an easy workout, but I am thrilled with the results!
